about David Booker

I'm a sculptor who makes pencil drawings too.

My first sculpture was the Tasmanian Totem. I then went to Italy where I started to make sculpture with a traditional technique which I have never abandoned.

My figures are in a forward moving position with little possibility to move and stopped right there. If you give them the time they will answer your questions about how and why the sculpture was made.

This can also happen looking at my still life pencil drawings.

I find abandoned engine parts, packaging, boxes and cardboard shapes, and I group them together in compositions which I portray simply as they are so that each carton and mechanical piece is a single entity, separate and independent, within its own journey.

Artists are idea-makers and, subsequently, activists through sharing.
